The Hunt & Live take
Why this regulator earns the pick
Lane is the UK regulator brand that competes with Altaros and Huma-Air on price rather than on premium positioning. The Lane kit is the choice for StormRider / PR900W / CR600W owners who want regulated performance without the Altaros price tag — and the kit is positioned more as a complete DIY package than as a drop-in.
The key install difference vs. the Altaros: Lane replaces the gauge block on the rifle (rather than sliding into the pressure tube around the gauge port). That means installing this regulator removes your in-stock gauge — you’ll need to buy the Diana / Artemis fill valve + gauge assembly to retain a pressure reading.
The DIY kit positioning shows in what ships: O-ring spares, lubricant, drill bits (for cases where vent holes need work), outlet valve springs, packers for tuning the output pressure window. This is a regulator kit for someone who’s going to tune the rifle, not a fire-and-forget drop-in.
What it pairs with
- Diana StormRider Gen 2 — the primary host platform
- Artemis PR900W — pumped variant, also covered
- Artemis CR600W — covered (this kit is specifically marketed for the CR600W)
- Diana / Artemis fill valve + gauge assembly — required companion to retain pressure reading
- Altaros regulator for Diana StormRider/Bandit/PR900W/PP800 — premium alternative if you’d rather spend more for a simpler install
Honest trade-offs

Not as plug-and-play as the Altaros. The Lane kit ships with drill bits and tuning shims for a reason — you may need to tune the output to your rifle. The Altaros is more of a “set the dial, install, done” experience.
Removes your stock gauge. Plan to buy the fill valve + gauge assembly at the same time, or you’ll be filling the rifle blind after install.
FAC vs non-FAC tuning matters. The Lane is designed to be adjusted across a wide range — meaning you need to set it correctly for your power level. A FAC-tuned regulator setting on a sub-12 ft-lb rifle will over-pressurize the valve; a sub-12 setting on an FAC rifle will under-perform. Follow the install manual carefully.
