Outer is Polyester 900D Oxford fabric; inner is 210D PVC with 1000D waterproof PU coating; lining is high-density XPE foam. The Hunt & Live take

Why this case earns the pick

The GB02 is Snowpeak’s brand-matched case for the M60B and Max 1 — the rifles that don’t fit in a 29.5″ case (too short) and don’t need a 47″ case (too long). The 34.5″ length gives you ~2-3″ of clearance over a fully-assembled M60B with bottle and scope rings; the 12″ width accommodates the bottle profile; the 2.2″ depth is sized for the scope and the bipod folded flat.

The build quality is the difference between this and the unbranded polyester soft case. Polyester 900D Oxford outer fabric is the same material grade used on military duffel bags — abrasion-resistant, holds shape, doesn’t tear easily. The PVC inner with PU waterproof coating is the second waterproof layer — even if the outer gets soaked, the inner stays dry. The high-density XPE foam lining is impact-absorbent without being bulky.

This is the case to buy if you own one of the M60B-family rifles and you don’t want to think about whether your gear is going to survive a rainy field session or a back-of-the-truck ride.

What it pairs with

Honest trade-offs

Specific size — measure your rifle first. If your rifle is over 34″ overall (with bottle and bipod and scope installed), you need the GB03 (47″). If it’s under 30″, the GB01 (29.5″) fits cheaper.

Soft case, not hard case. Will protect against rain, dust, and scratches. Won’t protect against being dropped or having heavy gear piled on top. For truck-bed transport under other gear, a hard case is the better choice (look elsewhere — the partner doesn’t currently stock hard cases).

The 2.2″ depth is tight for some configurations. A scope with very tall rings, or a bipod that doesn’t fold flat, can make zipping the case difficult. Test fit before traveling.
