Why these patches earn the pick
For large-caliber PCPs — the .30 cal Snowpeak rifles, the .35 cal big-bore platforms, the .457 hunting PCPs — the standard 7/8″ patch is too small. It doesn’t fully contact the bore, you have to off-center it, and lead build-up doesn’t come out cleanly.
These 1-1/4″ patches are the right size. They fit calibers from .30 up to .50, which covers:
- .30 cal PCPs (some — the partner’s .30 cal Snowpeak M60B and JTS Airacuda Max .30 may prefer either size depending on bore tolerance)
- .35 cal Snowpeak rifles
- .457 cal big-bore PCPs
- Centerfire rifles up to .50 cal (.30-06, .308, .338, .375, .416, .45-70, .458, .50 BMG, etc.)

Honest trade-offs
Too big for .22 / .25. Use the 7/8″ patches for sub-.30 calibers — the 1-1/4″ patches won’t fit through the smaller bores.
.30 cal is the crossover. Some .30 bores accept 7/8″ patches snugly, others need the 1-1/4″ size. Try both — buy the smaller pack first if uncertain.
500 pieces is decades of supply for a .457 owner. Big-bore PCP shooters typically clean less frequently than small-bore. One pack is probably permanent supply for a single rifle.
