The Hunt & Live take

Why these patches earn the pick

Patches are the consumable in the Patchworm cleaning workflow. Every cleaning pass uses 2-4 patches; a .22 or .25 PCP that gets cleaned every 200-300 shots burns through ~50 patches a year for a moderate shooter. 500 pieces is two to five years of supply — buy once, forget about it.

7/8″ is the size that covers .177 through .30. For .177 you may need to off-center the patch slightly (the partner notes this on the .22/.25 kit page). For .22 and .25 the patch fits snugly. For .30 it’s at the upper limit of fit but still works.

100% cotton flannel is the right material — absorbs solvent (Ballistol) cleanly, dries without lint, doesn’t snag on rifling. Both sides finished (napped) means both faces of the patch have the same texture — flip the patch after the first pass and use the second side for the dry follow-up.

What it pairs with

Honest trade-offs

500 patches is a 5-year supply for casual shooters. Don’t buy multiple packs unless you shoot a high-volume schedule or own multiple rifles.

Won’t work for calibers over .30. Use the 1-1/4″ patches for .35 and larger bores.

Canada shipping deal requires email follow-up. $16 CAD refund for letter mail — not automatic.
