The Hunt & Live take
Why this tank earns the pick
If you’re using a hand pump to fill your PCP, you will buy this tank — it’s just a question of how many sessions it takes. A hand pump fills a 130cc Lynx Gen 3 reservoir in about 70 strokes per shot’s worth of pressure. A 3L Tuxing tank fills the same Lynx roughly 30 times before the tank itself needs a refill. After the tank empties, you bring it to a scuba shop or your own compressor and refill it once instead of pumping for an hour every session.
The Tuxing/Acecare 3L is the default first PCP tank at the partner — 27 verified orders, all 100% positive, CE approved with full traceability (license number, serial number, resin and carbon fiber spec on the certificate). The optional regulated fill station is the upgrade worth taking — you set the output pressure once to match your rifle’s max fill pressure, and the station auto-stops at that pressure on every fill. No more gauge-watching.
What it pairs with
- Any PCP with M18×1.5 fill thread (most modern PCPs)
- The Perfect PCP Starter Kit as the natural upgrade from the hand pump after the first season
- Snowpeak Lynx Gen 3, Avenger, JTS Airacuda, M60B, Mercury — drops on directly
- Older Diana/Artemis platforms with M18×1.5 — works directly; some older Artemis platforms used different threads, verify before ordering
Regulated or standard?
- Regulated set-pressure (recommended) — set the fill station to your rifle’s max fill (e.g., 250 bar for a Lynx Gen 3, 300 bar for an M60B) and the station stops there automatically. Foolproof and the best value if you’re new to PCP filling.
- Standard (no regulator) — you watch the gauge and close the valve manually. Cheaper, but if you forget to watch the gauge you can overfill the rifle.
Honest trade-offs
CE approved, but NOT DOT approved. This is the critical note from the partner’s product description: scuba shops won’t fill this tank for you because it’s not DOT-certified. The intended use is filling with your own electric compressor — meaning you’ll also need a PCP compressor (Tuxing, Yong Heng, or equivalent) to make this work long-term. If you don’t have a compressor, you can pay for Canadian DOT re-inspection, but that’s a hassle.
For the off-grid setup this is fine — you own the compressor, you own the tank, you fill at home or your shop. For the city PCP buyer who wants scuba-shop refills, look at the Scott SCBA cylinders the partner also sells (those are DOT certified, hydro-tested, and scuba-shop fillable).
Currently out of stock at time of writing. The Tuxing 3L is the partner’s most-bought tank — restocks regularly. Email Wes for ETA if you need it soon.
