Why this pellet earns the pick

In the .25 caliber PCP world, the question “which pellet” has almost no debate at the entry point: JSB Exact King 25.39gr is the universal starting answer. The reasons compound the same way they do in .22 and .177 — JSB has dedicated dies for this specific pellet that have been running for over a decade, the consistency is unmatched, and the 25.39gr weight is in the sweet spot for the 35-50 ft-lb power range that covers virtually every regulated .25 PCP.

The 120 order count at the partner is the largest of any .25 pellet, and 100% positive over that volume is rare. It means buyers come back tin after tin — the pellet is doing exactly what they need, year over year.

For .25 PCPs the weight selection matters more than in smaller calibers. The standard 25.39gr King is the right choice for almost every factory-stock .25 PCP making 35-50 ft-lbs. Higher-power rifles (Snowpeak M60B at 60 ft-lbs, FX in .25 cal) can drive the heavier 33.95gr Heavy MKII, but those rifles are the exception.

When to use it / when not to

Use it for: any .25 PCP accuracy work where you don’t have a specific hunting/expansion requirement. This is the default. Practice, paper at 50 yards, general utility, the pellet against which all other .25 pellets are measured.

Skip it for: dedicated medium-game hunting where you want hollow point expansion (use H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme), or budget high-volume practice (use JTS Dead Center — surprisingly good for less money).

Honest trade-offs

Always out of stock first. Highest volume = fastest sellout. Get on the partner’s restock email list if you shoot a .25 PCP regularly.

Premium price. Roughly 1.5-2× the cost of JTS Dead Center in the same weight class. The accuracy difference is real but small — for backyard plinking it’s overkill. For serious accuracy work (50+ yards), it pays.

Not a hunting pellet. Domed for accuracy, not energy transfer. For pest/small-game work where you want clean dispatch, use H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme.

350-count tin sits between the .22 500-count standard and the .30 150-count format. Reasonable: heavier pellets, less per tin, but enough for meaningful volume work.
