The Hunt & Live take
Why this rifle earns the pick
The Barra 250Z is the modern modular PCP at this price point — every cosmetic and functional choice optimized for the buyer who wants AR-15 style ergonomics on an air rifle. 6-position adjustable buttstock, AR-style modular grip, M-LOK compatible foregrip, and an externally adjustable regulator give you adjustability in every dimension.
Integrated air storage around the barrel keeps the package compact while delivering 322cc of usable reservoir at 3625 psi — better than most older PCPs at this size. The 1:18 twist rate non-choked barrel is appropriate for both pellets and slugs.
Verified buyer feedback: “The Barra 250Z is my fourth PCP. I’m really enjoying it and find it nice handle and accurate. I wish the trigger was better, but maybe that will smooth out over time. At least it has a predictable break, even though it has a fair bit of creep. The fit and finish of the gun is very good and the texture is excellent.”
What it pairs with
Tactical chassis wants serious accessory support:
- Scope: Discovery ED-PRS 5-25×56 Gen 2 for serious precision or Discovery HD 3-12×44 SFIR FFP-MIL for general use
- Mounts: Discovery 20 MOA Tactical for the elevation budget
- Refill: Tuxing 3L Tank + Fill Station — 3625 psi fill is above comfortable hand-pump range
- Accessories: M-LOK bipod, sling mount, light — the foregrip accepts standard M-LOK accessories
Caliber choice
- .22 — 1000 fps, 50+ ft-lbs, the universal hunting choice
- .25 — more energy per shot, slightly more drop, the choice for larger pests
Honest trade-offs
80% positive on 32 orders is the lower end at this partner. The verified buyer feedback specifically calls out the trigger as a weak point — “I wish the trigger was better… it has a predictable break, even though it has a fair bit of creep.” That matches what we’d expect from a polymer-receiver tactical PCP at this price.
Out of stock at time of writing. Per the partner: “More coming soon.”
Trigger creep is the platform’s known weakness. The two-stage trigger has a clear break but the take-up isn’t crisp — the platform deserves a trigger upgrade if you’re doing serious precision work.
Picatinny scope rail + barrel-integrated reservoir means mount choice matters more than usual. Verify height before ordering rings — the barrel-around-reservoir design can cause unusual height-over-bore math.
