Quick take

The big-bore PRS Max — same aluminum chassis, patented adjustable buttstock, AR grip, and dual Picatinny rails as the [.22/.25 version](/pcp/rifles/jts-airacuda-prs-max/), but in .30 caliber. JTS positions this as appropriate for small-medium sized game hunting and longer-range target shooting. 7-round magazine, 20 shots per fill, M18-1 thread for big-bore moderators (US-only).

The Hunt & Live take

Why this rifle earns the pick

The .30 cal PRS Max is the chassis-class big-bore option at the partner. Same aluminum frame, adjustable stock, and AR ergonomics as the .22/.25 PRS Max, but tuned for the heavier .30 caliber projectiles that make the platform appropriate for actual game hunting.

JTS’s stated use case is “small-medium sized game hunting / longer-range target shooting” — meaningful terminal energy at typical airgun hunting distances, with the precision platform to put it in the right place at distance.

What it pairs with

PRS Max .22/.25 vs .30 — which?

  • .22/.25 PRS Max — 950/920 fps, 40/30 shots per fill, 10-round mags. The general-purpose chassis pick
  • .30 PRS Max (this rifle) — 860 fps, 20 shots per fill, 7-round mags. The hunting-class chassis pick

For target shooting and pest work, the .22/.25 is more practical. For game hunting and slug shooting, the .30 is the right pick.

Honest trade-offs

20 shots per fill is short for an afternoon at the range. Plan refills accordingly.

.30 caliber projectiles cost more than .22/.25. Per-shot cost is meaningfully higher.

M18-1 muzzle thread is uncommon — most US moderators are 1/2-20 or 5/8-24. If you’re a US buyer planning to add a moderator, verify thread compatibility with your chosen silencer.

8.5 lb is heavy — same caveat as the .22/.25 PRS Max. Bench/bipod work, not field carry.

Canadian moderator restriction still applies.

Canadian PAL required. Email PAL to support@airgunarcheryfun.ca after purchase.
