The Hunt & Live take
Why this rifle earns the pick
The partner is upfront about what the M16 is: “a beautiful well balanced and lighter weight rifle with great accuracy! This is the Diana Outlaw without Diana’s name on it.” Snowpeak builds the Diana Outlaw under contract — the M16 is the same rifle sold direct, without the Diana branding premium.
The platform has a balanced valve (not regulated) but has the hammer spring and valve spring tensioners that allow more tuning than a typical un-regulated rifle. For shooters who want some adjustment ability without the cost of a full regulator, this hits a useful middle ground.
3.0 kg with a beech stock and side-lever action puts it slightly lighter than the M60B and similar in handling to the Lynx — a classic-looking traditional hunter at a competitive price.
What it pairs with
- Scope: Discovery HD 2-12×24 SFIR FFP — compact glass for a compact hunter
- Mounts: Westhunter 11mm Adjustable — the M16’s 11mm dovetail rail is the key spec to match
- Refill: 4-Stage Hand Pump for the starter, Tuxing 3L Tank + Fill Station for upgrade
Caliber choice
- .177 — 1000+ fps, target/precision, lowest pellet cost
- .22 — 950 fps, the universal hunting choice
- .25 — 830 fps, max energy per shot, the choice for larger pests
Honest trade-offs
Not regulated. The M16 uses a balanced valve with adjustable spring tensioners — not a true regulator. Shot-to-shot velocity isn’t quite as flat as the Lynx or M60B. For most use cases (hunting, pest control) the difference doesn’t matter; for serious target work it does.
11mm dovetail rail. The product title mentions “Pic Rail” but the spec sheet specifies 11mm dovetail. Confirm at checkout which version you’re getting — the new pic-rail variant changes mount compatibility.
Sound suppressor is US-only. Per the standard partner note, Canadian buyers can’t get the moderator. Order the bare-threaded version or add a muzzle brake.
US tariff surcharge. The partner has added a 15% tariff prepayment for US customs — pricing reflects that, so no surprise charges at delivery.
Canadian PAL required. Email PAL + selfie to support@airgunarcheryfun.ca after purchase.
