The Hunt & Live take
Why this rifle earns the pick
If the Lynx is the partner’s starter rifle, the M60B is the partner’s hunting rifle. 135 verified orders with 96% positive reviews makes it the most-validated platform in the entire catalog — and the verified buyer reviews tell the story: “I have shot PCP rifles for years… immediately was impressed with the trigger, accuracy, and value compared to many other European PCPs.” “By far my favourite air rifle. If you don’t own an M60b you are missing out.”
The platform is explicitly FX Impact-styled — bullpup configuration, externally adjustable regulator, removable bottle, 24″ barrel in a compact body. At a fraction of the FX Impact’s $2000+ price, the M60B delivers most of the same capability for buyers who can’t justify the FX premium.
The externally adjustable regulator is the headline feature beyond the styling. Where most rifles fix the regulator internally (you’d need to disassemble to change), the M60B exposes the adjustment so you can tune set pressure for different pellet weights and use cases without opening the rifle. Want more power for slugs? Turn the regulator up. Want more shots per fill at modest power? Turn it down.
What it pairs with
The M60B is the upgrade rifle for someone who’s outgrown the Lynx and wants serious hunting capability:
- Scope: Discovery LHT 3-12×42 SFIR FFP (the lightweight pick for a hunting build) or the HD 3-12×44 SFIR FFP-MIL (the durable pick)
- Mounts: Discovery 6061 Picatinny — matches Discovery scopes; or Westhunter Picatinny if you’re running a different scope
- Bottle upgrade: Snowpeak 500cc Carbon Fiber Bottle — brand-matched
- Fill station: Tuxing 3L Tank + Fill Station — you’ll need this; a hand pump is impractical for the M60B’s higher consumption
- Optional moderator: USA buyers can add the moderator at checkout (Canadian customers get a muzzle brake instead due to law)
Caliber and bottle choice
.22 or .25?
- .22 — the universal hunting choice, more pellet selection, more affordable to practice with
- .25 — more energy per shot, slightly more drop, the choice if you’re hunting larger pests or want to drive slugs
Stock 350cc aluminum or optional carbon?
- 350cc aluminum (stock) — heaviest, included
- 420cc carbon — saves ~0.5 lb, adds shots per fill
- 480cc ultra-light carbon — lightest weight option
- 500cc carbon — most shots per fill, slight weight increase over 480cc
For a hunting rifle that gets carried, the 420cc or 480cc carbon is the right upgrade — saves weight where it matters and adds shots.
Honest trade-offs
Bullpup ergonomics aren’t for everyone. The bullpup configuration moves the magazine and bolt behind the trigger — shorter overall length but the magazine sits near your face. Some shooters love it (compact, easier to maneuver), others can’t get past it. Try a bullpup before committing if you’ve never shot one.
Loud without a moderator. The M60B at full power is noticeably louder than the Lynx. The 1/2×20 muzzle threading means a moderator can be added — but moderators are illegal in Canada. Canadian buyers get the muzzle brake option, which doesn’t reduce sound (it just protects the threads and looks better than a thread cap). US buyers can opt in to the moderator at checkout.
Verify your bottle before swapping under pressure. The M60B’s removable bottle is great for field swaps, but only swap bottles you trust. A bottle past its hydro test or with visible damage is a safety risk under pressure.
Canadian PAL required. Email your PAL photo to support@airgunarcheryfun.ca after purchase. US buyers don’t need a license.
