The Hunt & Live take
Why this rifle earns the pick
This is the only semi-automatic .22 PCP in the partner’s catalog — Veradium Air took over the Evanix platform and applied their proprietary X-line valve/hammer system, which the partner describes as improving “efficiency, reliability, accuracy and better FPE output compared to the factory unit.”
The air-actuated semi-auto with open bolt design is genuinely rare in the airgun market. Open bolt means quick magazine swaps without manual cycling, and air-actuated semi-auto (vs spring-actuated) keeps the rifle compact and adds shots-per-fill efficiency. Two 10-round aluminum mags included means 20 shots before reload.
The side-mounted power wheel is the other standout — adjust velocity in real time without disassembling the rifle. Great for matching pellet weight to use case (lighter pellets at lower power for plinking, heavier pellets at higher power for hunting).
What it pairs with
- Scope: Discovery HD 3-12×44 SFIR FFP-MIL — semi-auto wants fast target acquisition with good light
- Mounts: check the rail type at checkout — likely Picatinny
- Refill: Tuxing 3L Tank + Fill Station — 480cc bottle wants tank refills, not hand pumps
- Spare mags: semi-auto shooters typically want more than 2 magazines
Honest trade-offs
Limited spec detail on the partner page. Caliber, mag size, power, and weight are confirmed; barrel length, fill pressure, and overall dimensions aren’t fully specified on the partner’s listing. Email Wes for full specs before ordering.
No customer reviews yet at this partner. The Evanix platform globally has a long track record; the Veradium X-line upgrade is newer.
Semi-auto PCP is a specialized use case. If you’re hunting or doing precision target work, bolt-action and side-lever rifles deliver more consistency at lower price. Semi-auto’s value is volume and follow-up — pest control with multiple targets, fast plinking, action shooting.
Open-bolt design ejects air on each shot in addition to cycling — less shots per fill than a closed-bolt equivalent. Plan refills accordingly.
Canadian PAL required. Email PAL + other ID to support@airgunarcheryfun.ca after purchase.
