Building Techniques for Adobe Brick Durability

To ensure the longevity of an adobe brick structure, builders must employ specific techniques. A minimum of 4-6 inches of compacted gravel or sand should be laid beneath the foundation to prevent moisture from seeping into the structure. Adobe bricks should be laid in a mixture of lime mortar and sand, with a 1:2 ratio of lime to sand, to provide additional strength and moisture resistance.
