This can be achieved by wearing camouflage clothing, staying upwind of the turkeys, and using calls to mimic the sounds of a hen turkey. According to the TWRA, the most effective calling strategy is to use a combination of yelping, cutting, and cluckin’ calls to attract hens and gobbling toms. Additionally, consider using a shotgun with a 1-1/4 oz. load of #4 or #5 shot, as this will provide a good balance between penetration and spread at close ranges (10-20 yards).
