When selecting a location, consider the following elevation: ideally, the collection point should be at least 1-2 meters above the surrounding terrain to allow for air to flow underneath, reducing the risk of contamination and promoting optimal dew collection.

Black surfaces can be effective, as they absorb solar radiation and heat up during the day, allowing dew to condense more efficiently.
