Solar Panel Installation Considerations

When installing solar panels, consider the mounting system’s weight capacity and ensure it’s compatible with your RV’s roof structure. A sturdy mounting system is crucial to withstand wind loads, snow, and other environmental factors. For most RV solar systems, a 24V or 12V panel array with 300-400 watts of power is a good starting point. This can be achieved with 2-4 high-efficiency solar panels, depending on the manufacturer’s specifications. Shore Power Integration and Safety

When integrating your solar system with shore power, ensure that your battery bank and inverter are compatible with both AC and DC sources.
