Finding a Vantage Point

When scouting for a midday hunting spot in hilly terrain, look for elevated areas such as ridges, hilltops, and the tops of small bluffs. These positions provide a clear view of the surrounding area, allowing you to spot and track turkeys as they move through their daily routine. Identify natural funnels such as streams, draws, and hollows that turkeys are likely to use, and position yourself near these areas to increase your chances of intercepting birds.

Setting Up and Moving In

Once you’ve identified a potential vantage point, set up a comfortable and concealed location using natural cover such as trees, rocks, or bushes.
