Using Wind to Your Advantage

To use wind direction to your advantage, position yourself upwind of your quarry to mask your scent. This is especially crucial during warm weather when deer are more sensitive to human scent. Aim to be 100-200 yards upwind from your stand site to prevent deer from detecting your scent. When hunting with a partner, have one person positioned upwind while the other is downwind, ensuring that the downwind hunter is not detected.
