AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries and Gel batteries differ in their internal designs, which impact their weight. However, for systems where weight is a critical factor, such as in RVs or marine applications, AGM batteries may be a more suitable choice due to their lighter weight. Maintenance Considerations

When it comes to maintenance, AGM batteries are generally easier to maintain due to their valve-regulated design, which prevents gas emissions and reduces the need for maintenance. However, Gel batteries may require more maintenance due to their tendency to dry out over time, which can lead to reduced performance and lifespan. Regular checks and maintenance can help extend the life of both types of batteries, but AGM batteries are generally more forgiving in this regard.
