• A: Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
• S: Squeeze the handle to release the agent.
• S: Sweep the nozzle back and forth, covering the entire area of the fire with the extinguishing agent.

Prioritizing Safety and Emergency Preparedness

In the event of an electrical fire, it’s crucial to prioritize your safety and the safety of those around you. Develop a home fire escape plan, identifying at least two exit routes from each room and designating a meeting point outside the home. Make sure all household members understand the plan and practice it regularly. Keep a fire extinguisher rated for electrical fires on every level of your home, and make sure it’s easily accessible. Additionally, install working smoke alarms on every level of your home and in each sleeping area. Regularly test and maintain your smoke alarms to ensure they’re functioning correctly.
