Signal Mirror Shape and Angle

To use a signal mirror effectively, point the mirror at the sun and adjust the angle until the reflected light is focused on the intended target. The ideal angle is between 30° and 40°, allowing the signal to be visible from a distance while avoiding direct sun exposure.

To increase the visibility of a signal mirror, it’s essential to use the mirror during the brightest part of the day (usually between 11 am and 3 pm) and in clear weather conditions. Avoid using the mirror during periods of high humidity, fog, or heavy cloud cover, as these conditions can reduce the signal’s visibility. Additionally, using a high-visibility color or adding a bright marker to the signal can help make it more noticeable.
