For example, a survivalist might imagine being stranded in a wilderness area with limited supplies and having to find food and shelter within a 24-hour period. This toolkit can be expanded and refined over time as the individual gains experience and practice.

Situational fluency has real-world applications in survival situations, such as wilderness emergencies, natural disasters, and military operations. In a wilderness emergency, for example, situational fluency might involve being able to assess the situation, prioritize needs, and respond accordingly. This might involve starting a fire, building a shelter, or finding a source of water. In a natural disaster, situational fluency might involve being able to navigate through debris, find a safe shelter, and communicate with emergency services. By developing situational fluency, individuals can respond more effectively to a wide range of survival situations and increase their chances of survival.
